book invitation for a library themed baby shower

library baby shower invitation

If you’re looking for a gender neutral baby shower theme and a way to build your new baby’s library, you might consider a library/book themed shower. These invitations were inspired by vintage books complete with the old fashion checkout cards that had each guests name as well as the registry information for mommy to be. In lieu of a traditional card, it was requested that each guest bring their favorite children’s book with a personal message to the new babe on the inside of the book. This is such a perfect way to build your little one’s library.

and baby makes three

baby announcementThe past year has been an exciting one for many reasons! Keep reading and I promise I will share our #1 spot with you. We started 2012 with a road trip from San Francisco, California all the way up the coast to Seattle, Washington, where we rang in the new year. It was a beautiful trip! We saw the Golden Gate Bridge and toured the island of Alcatraz and the prison. The island is breath taking. There was an abundance of vegetation amongst the run down prison. I was so thankful to have been able to tour the facility as it has always been so fascinating to me. We drove through the gargantuan red wood forests. There is absolutely no way to express in words how enormous these trees really are but we did drive our car through one if that gives you some kind of perspective;)We spent a night in Napy Valley, saw the Old Faithful Geyser of California, explored Mt. Saint Helens, shopped Pike Place Market in Seattle and ate dinner 604 feet above ground level in the Space Needle. It was a great way to see so many amazing places and collect some crushed pennies. The pennies are our way of documenting travels. They’re small and unique to each place;)

Fast forward to May 26, 2012……the day we said, “I DO!” I remember the day being perfect for us. Our small, intimate outdoor ceremony followed by drinks and dancing with our loved ones is still a very fond memory. We spent a lot of time apart due to crazy busy work schedules but the times we were together we spent on the lake. We met some new friends and had one of the best summers to date! There’s something so very relaxing about being on the lake while the hot Texas sun shines down.

Although the travels and the wedding were unforgettable, nothing tops our #1 spot of being able to announce our pregnancy to our friends and family at Christmas. We created a “Year in Review” card with the top five most memorable moments with #1 being a scratch off (stay tuned for a DIY post on how to create your own scratch off cards). I cannot explain the overwhelming feeling of joy that we felt…..and still some shock! I’m now over the half-way point in my pregnancy and feel GREAT! We cannot wait to meet our little babe! Baby Springer will be making an appearance in mid-July. A big thanks to our friends and family for their support, kind words and advice. Now, let the name game begin:)

Star Wars Birthday Party

It just so happens that Trenton is a BIG Star Wars fan and when his mom asked him what kind of party he wanted, without hesitation, he said Star Wars!!! If I were her, I would have panicked. For one, I’ve never seen a Star Wars movie in my life and two, how in the world do you stage an action hero movie and make it cool? Good thing she’s creative:)She had the coolest cookies in the shape of Star Wars characters. Who knew decorating for a Star Wars birthday could be so much fun.

Final outcome….Trenton and his Padawan friends LOVED the party and mom was recognized as the coolest mom EVER:)This is why I love birthday celebrations, or any celebration for that matter. The look on Trenton’s face had to make all of the details totally worth it. The whole day was for Trenton and making him feel special on his birthday. Cheers to another year, buddy!

Ahoy Mate

I am always so elated when someone contacts me about a baby shower invitation. They are one of my favorite projects to work on mostly because there is no shower that is identical. Everyone requests different details and each one of my clients thus far has each had a different theme. This particular invitation represents a nautical baby shower theme for a little boy. How cute of an idea is this?! I thought it was an absolutely adorable idea to help this new mom to be celebrate. The envelop liners was a pattern I created with red, white and navy blue anchors. The same pattern was used for the address wraps and he invitation was backed with a navy blue and white bold stripe pattern. I have no doubt that the shower details were ridiculously cute!

lace and bakers twine invitation suite

lace and bakers twineThis pink and metallic navy blue invitation suite consists of a pretty floral pattern, delicate lace and a pink and white bakers twine. Each invitation was printed on a ivory metallic paper and backed with a navy stock. A dainty ivory lace embraced each invitation and lastly, embellished with a pink and white bakers twine. A pretty floral pattern was designed for matching envelope liner and address wraps. It was my hope that these pretty invitations were the perfect representation of what I’m sure was an undoubtedly beautiful California wedding.
